Head Carving Trainer
Andrew is from the island of Erromango. From a young age Andrew has been doing one type or another of art work and where he shines the most is through his creativity and imagination. As a student his interest and experience was primarily in painting, however his carving skills were also presented to the President of Vanuatu.

Assistant Carving Trainer

John originates from the island of Buninga, the Shepard's group of Vanuatu.  John has been with Island Conservation Initiatives since early 2000, and quickly became a great asset to ICI due to his creativity and hard working attitude. Although John's career as a carver is more recent, he has proven himself to be a highly proficient and original artisan.

In 2002 John was given the opportunity to help train around 50 young youths in natangura carving through our on going carving project. He displayed much interest in this aspect of the work that ICI is involved with and has found satisfaction in sharing his skill and knowledge of natangura carving with both village communities and urban youth groups.
