Head Carving Trainer
From 1982 through to 1992 Andrew worked full time for a local print shop designing letterheads, brochures, posters and the like.

It was from there he decided to strike out on his own as an independent artist. In the years since, he has painted t-shirts, business signs and murals at local hotels and restaurants. If you're ever in Port Vila, check out his murals at Jill's American Café, Le Lagon Resort, and Le Meridien Resort. Even driving around town, you'll find that many of the business signs were painted by Andrew.

Andrew is a prize winning Vanuatu artist; he has won first, second and third prizes with his oil paintings and a first prize with a tapestry depicting the Vanuatu custom of Land Diving. Island Conservation first came across Andrew when we were looking for artists to try this new form of art - carving natangura palm seeds. Although Andrew had not done a lot of carving prior to this project, his skills have improved tremendously and due to his natural ability to teach, he has become Island Conservation Initiatives head carving trainer. His biggest asset to this project has been his imagination.
