The Foundation for the Peoples of the South Pacific Vanuatu

The Foundation for the Peoples of the South Pacific Vanuatu (FSPV) is a not-for-profit, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) focusing on sustainable development, particularly in the sectors of forestry and environment, health and nutrition, youth, small business and community capacity building.  The philosophy of its intervention strategy is based on effective project management, training and local capacity building.

FSP Vanuatu’s mission is to:

bullet

Support and promote the sustainable social, economic and environmental development of all people of Vanuatu;

bullet

Improve and promote the equal participation and fair treatment of all Vanuatu people, both within FSPV and outside, while conserving the unique cultural identities of Vanuatu;

bullet

Advance the capacities and self-reliance of Vanuatu’s communities, especially in rural areas, and develop new ways of doing this.

FSPV works directly with communities, as well as in partnership with national and local governments and NGOs for the implementation of its projects. With a current membership of almost 100 communities and individuals, FSP Vanuatu’s network reaches most islands of Vanuatu.

As FSPV currently struggles to raise funding locally and has no core funding we also work in partnership with major donor agencies for program planning and management including FSP International (FSPI) affiliates, multinational aid agencies and bilateral government aid donors.
